Mint Julep recipe

4 fresh mint sprigs
2 1/2 oz bourbon wiskey
1 tsp powdered sugar
2 tsp water
Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water in a collins glass. Fill the glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw.
Traditionally Mint Juleps are served in silver or pewter cups and held by the handle or rim in order for the cup to obtain optimum frost. As an alternative to muddling the mint and sugar cube you can also infuse a sugar syrup< with mint. With this much bourbon in a drink, slow sipping is the appropriate way to imbibe
Anyone who is into horse racing will be familiar with this, the traditional drink of the Kentucky Derby  during which some 80,000 juleps are served. .

Love your new/old plant stand I could use one of those for our porch. Dd's pony is stunning and congratulations to her on her achievements. And always love seeing all your linens I could have fun there!

The horse is almost as stunning as your beautiful little girl!
Gracie starts lessons in January! I barely know the front end of a horse from the back but I am willing to learn! They didn't have horses in the ghetto! LOL!
Every time I see those linens I feel envy creep into my little heart!
Have a drink for me!

Hi Colette, Love the basket and the fabulous wire plant stand. I bought a wire plant stand recently, though no where near as wonderful as yours. Congrats to your daughter on her wins.

Ohh Colette, everything looks very beautiful in your world!
The etagere will be perfect for herbs, and the sweet little DD
on her pony, priceless...if I ever have a grand daughter one day! The mint julep recipe is a keeper, and I shall try it out this May, as I have promised to host the next Derby at my home. Best, N.xo

Colette I'm not sure which ones to "drool" over because the wire plant stand, old woven truck or Dd looking so poised on her new Arab horse (what a lucky lil girl)...they're all so beautiful!
