Linge et blanc

Unpacking , sorting the linen, lace, chanvre, hemp  and  trouvaille
from our recent visit to France and Belgium

 moving stock around
to make place for fabulous new finds

I love the patched pieces..
speaks of days when replacing was not an option, easier to mend than to  hand weave new ones..

Opening the boxes, re-discovering  and  re-live the day, the event, the place , the dealers, the trip...the thril of the hunt

Linge  et blanc
everywhere

Unpack, sort, wash, iron, measure, snapshots documenting each piece..
working against the clock to have all ready to share.
in my French Armoir with brocante finds and linge
et blanc

....to be continued

Being watched by the family..
curious about all the white linen
(just had to share the boys!-please note they are ever so comfortable on their own French daybed, French chanvre cloth to protect from muddy feet, and velvet toile cushions. I had no say at all, they claimed it)

What fun you must have had unpacking and sorting your wonderful purchases - the laces and linen are divine!
The boys are just gorgeous - they look like they're overseeing the whole event.
Have a wonderful week-end .xx

Everything you do inspires me deeply! Colx you know how enamored I am with everything you do, along with the postings of your travels to your friends homes.

I pop in to see if there is something I need as inspiration that I will take with me when I leave your place :)

I really have to comment even more often to let you know you are a site to love!

The monogrammed linen makes me incredibly curious as to the original owners. What was their life like I wonder. You must absolutely adore everything, I'm so pleased it is all in hands that will care lovingly for it.

Oh belle Colette,

What beautiful fabrics and textiles you found! This is a wonderful path we chose no? Seeking beauty fro th past to share with others.
Being in "the old world" conjures up so many ideas and images of those who were the first owners of the items we so zealously procure. It's as though some of their life energy has remained.

Hugs to you!
