Everyday images

Looking through filed images to share,
I realize that the everyday images we see around us,
is often taken for granted.

I guess I love books and figurines..

in conversation

always in  conversation..

our eyes pass over them once, twice and more
everyday as we walk past them,
we move books,a cushion, a figurine.. often without hesitating

 I love this chair
still not re-upholstered..

and this one..
often something becomes so part of our surroundings
that we cannot imagine it any other way..

on Atlas shoulders - bearing the weight
of marble and ever changing vignettes

same plate vignette - different setting

more books and globes

pictures in transit

kitchen stuff

kitchen table ~ always set for impromptu sit down

I am taking a break from the Brocante preparations this week
to spend some  time in the garden.

Spring is in the air and the box garden I started last season
needs to be trimmed and neatened

we waited patiently for the hedges to fill out
and topiaries to take shape

therefore, some more box love to be added..

some garden planning to be done

have a good week, will share the garden project soon

  2. I love old chairs with the upholstery tattered ~ they are warm and inviting and beckon 'please sit on me' not like the newly uphostered that look like pieces of furniture to be admired from a distance & never sat upon. Enjoy your gardening it is the beautiful Printemps season!

  8. Hello Colette ... thank-you so much for dropping by and joining my blog. I am so glad you did because now I have found you. These are images are gorgeous and I love the box garden .... it is stunning and you are doing it yourself. I have Japanese box at our house with two spirals at the front door which I attempt to trim! I also love the black toile/check chair and vignette .... I am a complete "Out of Africa" nut owning at least 3 copies and watch it regularly. The clothes and her home are incredible and yours reminds me of that... you have such gorgeous taste. I have always thought I was born in the wrong era as I have such an affinity with history. I have to say I also love marble and old books and botanicals! So I have just loved looking through these images! Thank-you and can't wait to see more. Have a wonderful week!
    best wishes

  11. OMG, your courtyard is to die for as well as your very beautiful puppy. I'm looking forward to what else you'll be doing in your garden. Tomorrow is our first full day of fall so everything is dying back here. Watching your garden come alive during my winter months will be wonderful. Thank you for stopping by my blog and I've returned the favor and added you to my blog roll.
