it figures...

Mid winter in South Africa,
so it is a good time for "spring cleaning" - for me that is.
I'd rather spend Printemps outside..planning the garden.
I much prefer to tidy Armoirs in winter.
The thing is though, that I start  very eagerly, unpacking, make to do lists, and "give away "piles..
add labels to boxed items.
then I discover some books, magazines
or a box with old photographs pre digital.
and this is where I take a break, have a seat, have a cup of tea and go back in time....

old treasures are moved to  new vignettes
I can almost see them smile and pleased with their new view

Dd (darling daughterwas barely 5 years old when she pointed at
the  DE POSI figurine below
and demanded that it should come home with us.
I like to think that  it was the start of a love for old and precious.

A woman's work is never done.
Some of it will be treated as a priority.

Have a lovely fulfilling week!

Now....back to the armoir

  1. Dear Colette,
Thank you so much for such a beautiful comment to my blog.....it was so lovely to recieve!
Miniatures are a wonderful way to escape the real world and my blog brings me into contact with wonderful people such as yourself.
My love of miniatures and that of France is combined into one with the Petite Maison. I thank you for your visit and hope to see you back many many times.

  2. Hello Colette-
The figurines are exquisite! They are to be treasured, always. I can certainly understand why your daughter demanded on bringing the last one home. She is starting young!
I do the same thing, I will be putting things in order and find photos or magazines or something and then I must sit with a cup of tea and take a break.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful treasures today. I so enjoy your blog.

Our blogs are together and I haven't been able to pick my own name to follow people) Anyway, your pictures are beautiful. You must live in a gorgeous area looking back in your older posts.
